This weekend, Mr. Cheesemonger and I were going to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary by hiking Angel Island in San Francisco Bay, and by checking out some cheese making supplies. It turns out, we didn’t make any progress on either project, since the family dog, an elderly bichon frise named Daisy, suddenly fell ill, and needed to be put to sleep this morning. I sure do miss her. If no one else ate my homemade cheese, I know she would. She lived a full life, but I’m still so sad. I was so worn out today that I just spent the rest of the day in bed.
The next chance to make cheese is in three weeks, when my in-laws visit from France.
In one week, Mr. Cheesemonger and I will attend the Oregon Cheese Festival at Rogue Creamery. And for the first time ever, I get to attend an event as an “official” cheese blogger! I’m very excited about this! Hopefully, I’ll get to tour Rogue Creamery’s facilities (fingers crossed).
Take care, readers, and give your dogs an extra hug today for me.
