Where has the summer gone? My non-singing operatic debut in Nixon in China at the San Francisco Opera took up a good chunk of the start of summer. Then, as if by magic, the day the opera closed, I got a boatload of new clients and new jobs, which I am very excited about! It’s a warm, fuzzy feeling as a solo lawyer to get new clients! I even got to make my first court appearance and negotiate my first settlement. Yay!
On top of that, I worked briefly with a life coach following the flare-up of an old back injury. She put me on a no-gluten/no-soy/no-dairy diet for a while. I will admit, I was eating a lot of cheese before we started, probably more than is good for me, by any standards. It wasn’t even good quality queso (think industrial “cheese”), so I wasn’t too sorry to see that disappear from my plate. The going was tough for a while, though! I’ve walked away from the experience a slightly more temperate eater, and I reserve my appetite for the artisanal cheeses. That’s not to say that my waistline has shrunken much (or at all). I just feel better, and that counts some, right?
Mr. Cheesemonger and I are headed off on a little Hawaiian vacation soon. I will definitely be checking out the local eats on Kauai and Oahu!
