I knew from the start of 2013 that it was going to be an exciting year. Something just felt different, abuzz, maybe a little revolutionary. Even before the year began, I’ve been thinking about how I can use all of the skills and interests I’ve developed throughout the years to create the best possible impact. Moving to San Francisco has led to some amazing opportunities for me as a business owner, a lawyer, a cheese writer, and as a musician. I’ve met literally hundreds of people, visited farms and creameries, and learned so much about the depth of human creativity, kindness, and generosity.
So what does that mean for Miss Cheesemonger? Well, after many, many days and nights of thought, I have decided to suspend my law practice. What’s next? I’m not entirely sure, but I am looking at opportunities that will allow me to work internationally, with specialty food, or technology (or maybe all of the above?). Marketing positions are especially appealing to me because I absolutely love going out there, meeting new people, and sharing information (Yes, I enjoy public speaking!). Working with businesses, people, and products from abroad appeals to my international aspirations. Maybe I will start a new business. We’ll see what comes up. I am going to take some time to explore opportunities, travel, and taste amazing cheeses along the way. 2013 is definitely going to bring about great changes!
Have any of you got suggestions for me? Points to ponder? I am always eager for feedback. That’s the best part of being able to engage with so many people.
Thank you, readers! Delicious cheese adventures are coming up shortly!
