In the meantime, Happy Memorial Day! Are you doing something during this long weekend to commemorate those who have served in the U.S. armed forces? Is it starting to feel like summer where you are?
We kept things simple with an impromptu barbecue with our friends Will & Minda in the East Bay, and grilled up some nectarines, corn on the cob, Portobello mushrooms, eggplants, lamb, and a fresh round of goat’s milk queso blanco (Yes, we grilled it!!). Mm mm. The nectarines when fabulously with the cheese! The combo of sweet and savory was just right, a great summer snack.
It was a relaxed evening—good food, good laughs, gorgeous weather, and the shade of an avocado tree. And a grill. Smells like summer to me!
