Happy Monday! I am SO thrilled to bring you this next post because it puts cheese in a whole new place for me. A local decorative painter and designer I’ve been following for several years now, Shannon Kaye, is starting up a series of “Getting To Know You” meetings with local creative folks. For her meeting, she invited me and another insanely talented ceramics artist, Linda Fahey, to her gorgeous home.
We invited local food photographer Madelene Farin to document the occasion! Because it was a pretty early session and I didn’t know how adventurous my fellow artistes were, I chose a pretty mellow cheese plate: triple crème Mt. Tam by Cowgirl Creamery, lemony Fiore Sardo from Sardinia, and buttery Vella Dry Jack.
I don’t think I’ve ever been surrounded by so much beauty! Linda’s handmade ceramic platters were absolutely astounding. I wanted to pet all her plates, and take them home with me! And her ceramic, driftwood-handled spoons. Siiiigh!!! Thank goodness she has a shop I can visit sometime! Shannon’s home is gorgeous, from the pillows covered with colorful prints of her paintings, to the vintage furniture and accents everywhere, to the graphic decorative wall painting.
It was incredible, and I think the best way to appreciate it is to see it! Beautiful cheese in beautiful homes on beautiful platters—isn’t that the best?
I also put some more photos in a Facebook album!
